Why We Built CipherShift
We were tired of solving captchas for other people's sins.
Our Story
Like many of you, we used VPNs for years. And like many of you, we experienced the downsides: constant captchas, blocked bank accounts, streaming services that knew we were using a VPN and the nagging suspicion that "no logs" was more marketing than reality.
The root cause was always the same: shared infrastructure. When thousands of users share an IP address, you inherit their collective reputation. Someone on your server sent spam last week? That's your problem now. A bot scraped a website from your IP yesterday? Enjoy your captcha.
We thought: what if every user had their own dedicated server? What if key rotation wasn't just a checkbox but a configurable feature that actually destroyed old keys? What if we built a VPN for people who actually understand how VPNs work?
CipherShift is that VPN.

Most VPNs use the same encryption keys for months. If those keys ever leak, whether through a hack, court order or insider, all your past browsing is exposed. We rotate keys on demand and delete old ones. Your history stays protected even if we're compromised tomorrow.
Zero-Knowledge by Design
We built the system so we can't see your traffic, even if we wanted to. RAM-only servers. No logs to hand over. Warrant canary. We show our work.

The Problem
Frustrated with shared VPN infrastructure, constant captchas and blocked banking access while traveling, we started building something different.
CipherShift Alpha
Launched our dedicated server model to early adopters. Developed CipherShift key rotation and Ghost Mode protocols.
Public Launch
Launched our iOS and Android apps on the dedicated server model, with private servers across 37 locations worldwide. Desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux are in private beta and coming soon.
What's Next
Desktop apps, enterprise features, more locations and continued focus on making privacy accessible to everyone.
